Crater Lake

My dear friend Jonathan and I ran away to grab one of those last warm weekend camping trips last weekend. We drove 6 hours (we took our time and made sure to stop at a few little antique shops) to Crater Lake. If you go, I highly recommend going to the Sinnott Memorial Overlook and then run away from the crowds and hike Mt. Scott (almost 9,000 ft) on the East Rim Drive. We hiked at sunset and were completely awed. You can see 360 degrees, including the lake, the plains and other nearby mountains.

It is really sapphire blue! I kept thinking of the sci-fi book Dune.

The shadow of Mt. Scott taken from the top.

We love Oregon!
