Thursday word of the day : Paean

I'm not a singer (seriously, my car probably shutters when I do) but if I was, I would be singing a paean today because Modi of Idom and I are going to share my studio. To be clear, she's not moving out of her beautiful shop, so don't fret.

I've been very hesitant to share my creative space with anyone after my friend moved out earlier this year. With the whole space to myself, I was excited to redesign and reorganize it with better lighting, better storage and a few white walls for displaying inspiration and art for first Friday shows. My friend Jay painted the walls and then
all of my great plans were put on hold while I painted the Constellations show. But with Modi's great aesthetic and energy, we'll have the space shaped up in June. I'm so thrilled! We're going to have so much fun working there this summer. I'll be sure to include some pictures of the new beautiful organized space!

Thursday word of the day :
paean \PEE-uhn\, noun:

1. A joyous song of praise, triumph, or thanksgiving.
2. An expression of praise or joy.
from Dictionary.com Word of the day

Paean comes from Latin paean, "a hymn of thanksgiving, often addressed to god Apollo," from Greek paian, from Paia, a title of Apollo.

Thanks for stopping my blog. I love your constellation art - it's wonderful!
PS. In answer to your question about where I find my junking treasures: mostly just the Goodwill, with a few flea markets thrown in and the occasional antique store, Monticello!

Hi Danca, you are right! summer seems to bring lots of change. Looks like you have some good changes happening in your world too!

littlbyrd, I thought those might be from Monticello! I've been trying to get there all week. I love that place. Say, do you know of a good auction house around here?

thanks design for mankind! I will definitely share the makeover. If anyone has strong, modern shelf ideas, I'd love to see them! my brain is obsessed with efficiency and minimalism when it comes to storage.

Hi Angie, I don't know of any good auction houses...I hadn't ever really thought about it. You've got my mind spinning now! I might have to research that - an auction could be fun!
