My iMac has decided to not start up for me… sounds like some good fun, huh? It's times like these that I'm so very thankful to have my old reliable Powerbook G4 at the ready to keep me connected and working.

On the flip side, I just dropped off the last painting (Pisces, shown above) for the show tomorrow night at Pip Gallery. Ryan Dobrowski, the owner, is so sweet it hurts. As I've mentioned before, he and his band (Blind Pilot) are going on tour by bicycle (yeah, they're very cool and fit people!). If you know of anyone who might be interested in sponsoring something so cool, please contact them. They need some funding and for the right company it could be great advertising! A few of their friends are making a documentary film about it too. You can read about their experience on their blog here. Sorry to keep going on about them, but I just think it's so great they are touring by bike!

My posts might be a little sparse while the iMac is in the shop. Have a great Wednesday! *a

Constellations show : next Thursday

star love
{a piece that will be in the show and
will be available online next week}

Just found out a few more people will be a part of next Thursday's (August 7th) show in the Pearl at PiP Gallery (625 NW Everett Street #110 , Portland, OR). The more the merrier is what I say! Alisha Wessler, another favorite local artist, will be joining the fun (with Ryan Dobrowski and myself). Hope to see you there! Oh… the hours are 6-9:00. If you don't like swarms of people, I suggest coming before 8:00.

constellations : a commission

I've also had more time to spend in my studio (ahhh… happiness!). I'm finishing up a commission and working on new pieces for next week's show. The constellation above is Lacerta, latin for lizard.

New Constellations

My new painting series is loosely based on Native American Legends about the stars. This one is from the Northern Cheyenne titled Falling-Star. I've added more layers of texture for more depth. I like where it's going!

wax, pigment and thread

It's true! It's been a while but I'm back at it with wax, pigment and lots and lots of thread. I'm finally putting down some ideas I've had for… ahem… a year or so!

Ahhhh… a blank slate
Check back on Friday to see new work!
