meeting new people at 8am coffee

What's a single girl to do when all of her friends are married or coupled and don't go out after 9pm and she likes to stay up well after midnight? Glamor.com listed some ideas of how to meet new people recently. Likemind sounded promising-- that is if you don't mind meeting strangers for coffee at 8am. The idea sprouted from two guys in San Francisco who wanted to meet some more cool people. So they sent out an email asking friends and acquaintances to meet them at 8am at a coffee shop, just to have fun conversation and a few laughs. It worked. So well, in fact, that it reaches around the world! Pretty cool.

I've been enjoying my friend Susan's lovely images from her daily "path" postings on her blog and I caught myself snapping shots on Sunday for a similar post. I went out to gather some inspiration for my fall scarf collection and I ended up capturing a few unexpected bits along the way.

mother's day

For me, today is a celebration for the wonderful mothers in my family. I was truly blessed with beautiful, strong, loving women who helped shape me into the confident, independent person I am today. I lost my mother too early in my life and so mother's day is always a bit hard. I just try to remember, and celebrate, how incredibly lucky I was to have her for as long as I did.
